The Gods and Goddesses

The many gods and goddesses of the Great Continent aligned themselves with many different elements.  All of them but one.  One god, The God, was the first.  He created the elements and the rest of the gods.  He is not much seen in the heavens though.  He isolated himself shortly after the creation of everything.  No one in heaven really knows what he does or why He hid himself away.  But the rest of the gods don’t generally worry about that.  they spend most of their time arguing among themselves, interfering with mortals, or absorbing praise or worship or laments.

The pantheon aligned with four elements primarily, but there are other gods as well.  The god of death is often feared, though he is more of a worker.  The goddess of magic holds a similar role.  These two make up the dynamic of how things work and change and move when no other god is interacting with the reality of the world.
