I’m free! I’m out! The cage held me no more.
I walk’d the street, the field, the hill the mount
and sought for life and hope and sky and fount!
I found such things in all that I did ‘dore.
Found love and joy in things where none before
I reveled in such truth and grace now found
and knew the world would give me life! Abound!
such things I never knew could be, but sure
I had been fool’d by such a horror of
that imagery that nature gives but man
does take, woman as well, and twist to pain
now crushed to memory i sat and strove
to lose the loss I knew so long, and fan
the hope of tomorrows free swell from rain
