Let the Ferry-man go

Let the ferry-man go
Take me from this bank
Over the river styx
Over the river lethe

Let the ferry-man go
Pole me to the gates of hell
Drop me with my sins
Before the blackened judges

Let the ferry-man go
Leave me to the demons
Who will rend my flesh
Breaking my bones

Let the ferry-man go
Back into the mist
Of the unholy river
As the damned souls cry

Let the ferry-man go
To collect more sinners
To join me on my cross
And bear their transgressions

Let the ferry-man go
Back to the state of limbo
Finding those unheeded
Wasting life and limb

Let the ferry-man go
To find my friends waiting
In heaven they look for me
But find naught but a gulf

Let the ferry-man go
As I watch the fires burn higher
In my body rising to the zenith
Hell almost touching heaven

Let the ferry-man go
As I wail and lament
For the things I did
I could have undone

Let the ferry-man go
To beg for forgiveness
On behalf of those
Who learned too late

Let the ferry-man go
From the banks of Limbo
With a soul to cast
To the fiery depths that wait

Let the ferry-man go
As I bend a knee
And bend my pride
To ask forgiveness

Let the ferry-man go
To keep post til hell burns out
And all the souls are sorted
I will account my life

Let the ferry-man go
And I will stay to guard the road
To hell and heaven, pointing
Those who look for help

Let the ferry-man go
He will return, as death
Never resting til the last
Then resting himself

Let the ferry-man go
He goes to sleep
Until the world is reborn
And men meet sin again
